San Josecito Road Improvement

The small and quaint village of San Josecito is concerned about the condition of their road and has organized a road board with the objective is to get the road in good repair again. Last year the municipality did a lot of work to improve the road however due mainly to the exceptional heavy rains in November 2010 the road has deteriated badly in many areas and is presently in a bad condition.

The road connects the coastal highway to San Josecito, the beautifully situated small village of Morete on the mountain ridge and on to the main agricultural town in the area San Isidro (locally known as Perez Zelledon). The municipalities form different districts have worked on this road together in recent years and in 2010 an important part was completed, which was a single lane small suspension bridge that now enables the road to be a year round alternative route to San Isidro, which is important link for the areas on the south Pacific coast.
The pro-active San Josesito road board has instructed an engineer to prepare a budget and their idea is to propose a plan to the municipality to asphalt some of the main areas of the road.

There are 46 properties along the road that rely on it to transport the local agricultural products and as a route for the growing tourism in the area.

San Josecito is only ten kilometers from the popular town of Uvita and is an alterative destination for investors looking for real estate in Uvita.
