Uvita’s association of development has a new President Mr. Estaban Caldron amongst some of Mr. Caldron’s aims are to conclude the unfinished projects that will improve services in the community of Uvita. Among these is the building of the Police Station, construction of the Fire Station and complete the asphalting of some of the roads in Uvita. The Police station is sited as the most important project and has had some complications during the last couple years but now the funds to start this project are promised by the southern zone development board. There are plans to build the Police Station, Fire Station and Red Cross on the same land, which would the ideal scenario, as all these important services would be next to each other. There a few issues that need to be concluded concerning the land that is intended for these services, which is presently in process with the aim to aim to resolve this soon.
